Account Specialist, Aftermarket Sales

As an Account Specialist, Aftermarket Sales, you will play an important role in supporting our customers and growing Tecan’s aftermarket business by providing solutions that help customers maximize the value and performance of their Tecan products.

This role serves as a key customer-facing representative for Tecan, developing relationships with existing and prospective customers, identifying business needs, and connecting customers with Tecan aftermarket products and services.

 

How Will You Make an Impact?

  • Achieve assigned sales targets by effectively selling Tecan aftermarket products and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong consultative selling skills and in-depth product knowledge to understand customer needs and translate them into solutions.
  • Build and maintain effective account strategies based on a strong understanding of customer organizations, products, applications, and business needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Prospect for new opportunities within clinical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and related life science environments.
  • Manage assigned territory, accounts, and sales activities effectively through strong planning, organization, and time management.
  • Plan and organize daily activities to service existing accounts, maintain customer orders, develop new accounts, and prospect for additional opportunities.
  • Prepare and provide quotes and/or contracts for Tecan services and consumables and work with customers to gain acceptance.
  • Analyze customer activity and develop accurate sales forecasts to support business planning and growth.
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings and provide updates on forecasts, opportunities, customer activity, and business development.
  • Respond to customer questions, concerns, and complaints, taking ownership of issues and coordinating with internal teams when additional support is required.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, account information, sales activities, and forecasts within the CRM system.
  • Work closely with Customer Service, Sales, Automation, and other internal teams to develop and maintain customer relationships and sales opportunities.
  • Serve as a first-line liaison between Tecan and customers within the assigned territory.
  • Travel within the assigned territory as needed, including occasional short-notice travel.
  • Demonstrate integrity, honesty, accountability, and professionalism in all customer and business interactions.
  • Follow all applicable Tecan safety procedures and local, state, and federal OSHA regulations and promptly report safety concerns.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned and adapt productively to changing business needs.

Your Background

  • 2–3 years of sales experience required, preferably in a technical, life science, laboratory, healthcare, or related environment.
  • Prior experience selling into clinical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or related life science markets preferred.
  • 1–2 years of laboratory experience, preferably within a clinical or biotechnology environment, or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field preferred.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce, SAP C4C, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with technical products, laboratory equipment, consumables, or services is highly desirable.
  • Experience selling aftermarket products, services, consumables, or service contracts.
  • Experience in laboratory automation, life science instrumentation, diagnostics, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical environments.
  • Demonstrated success developing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Experience working in a consultative or solution-based sales environment.
  • Experience managing a geographic territory and developing account plans.
  • Understanding of laboratory workflows and customer applications.

Salary range: $65k– $85K
(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with industry data.)
