(Senior) Application Scientist
 

Männedorf, Switzerland

 

Your contribution 

In this role you will be responsible to design, implement, conduct, and document experiments on modules, components, and system solutions.

  • Design, plan and execute feasibility studies
  • Lead complex Root Cause Analysis of technical or performance issues
  • Application lead during implementation of system architectures interfacing with mechanical and software engineering
  • Analysis of application and corresponding automation needs for product and technology developments
  • Technical analysis of current technologies, reagents, consumables, software, instruments, and systems
  • Review and provide input for product risk assessment, concept evaluation, design review, product, and technology development
  • Statistical analysis of application or reliability related data
  • Support Verification and Validation activities
  • Provide consulting on life science related topics to teams of all disciplines at Tecan
  • Support customers during prototype testing and automation of manual processes

 

Your background 

  • PhD degree, preferably in (Molecular) Biology, Biochemistry, Medical Technology or Biomedical Sciences
  • 4+ years of experience in a scientific setting, ideally within automated liquid handling, laboratory analysis or development of diagnostic products in one or more of the following fields: Genomics, Next Generation Sequencing, Proteomics, Cell Biology, Oncology or Infectiology.
  • Experience in application and product development including testing and documentation
  • Experience in reagent development, chemistry, in vitro diagnostics and related regulatory topics is a plus
  • Flair for Programming of robots or liquid handling devices
  • Excellent English skills
