Sales Manager Genomics Europe 80-100%

What you will do

In this challenging and important role you are responsible for sales of Tecan Genomics products Tecan Next Generation Sequencing in Europe


Responsibilities will include

  • Manage team of NGS sales account executives in Europe in a matrix organization, providing ongoing coaching and mentoring
  • Responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for field sales activities
  • Provide hands-on leadership to ensure that all sales related plans are effectively implemented, results are monitored, and objectives and forecasts are attained
  • Oversee and support effective customer account planning and execution by sales
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve assigned sales growth by delivery of targeted annual sales results
  • Manage and approve pricing programs within established guidelines
  • Develop individuals and build teams - providing opportunities that promote accountability and sustained high performance
  • Actively participate in new business development activities
  • Work closely with commercial colleagues, technical support, sales development and global marketing teams to develop and implement sales tactics and activities
  • Travel regularly. Anticipated travel time is up to 50%, including overnights


What you bring along

  • B.S. degree in Life Sciences required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of life science sales experience ideally with a demonstrated track record selling complex, technical life science products or solutions 
  • 3+ years of managerial experience. Experience with hiring and managing a team, retaining, and developing good talent
  • Strong knowledge of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies and knowledge of NGS platforms, applications and tools providers
  • Track record of closing large multi-departmental deals and winning commercial business
  • Organized and structured approach, thorough with sales tracking and monthly forecasting
  • Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal skills, and work well independently as well as part of a team
  • Is personally accountable, takes ownership and must be a strong negotiator
  • Is comfortable with complexity and ambiguity, and innovative in finding solutions
