What you will do as our Sr. Application Chemist:    

Summary: Under the supervision of the Laboratory Director, to independently lead product development projects, to develop extraction protocols, program and maintain liquid chromatograph / mass spectrometer systems, maintain quality and safety standards to maintain compliance to ISO 13485 and the internal QMS, keep records, maintain supplies and do other work as required and assigned.

 

REPORTS TO:  Director of Technology & Product Development

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  1. Perform feasibility studies for new and novel consumable product ideas
  2. Independently lead product development projects for launch into the global market
  3. Develop application notes and protocols for chemistry consumable products
  4. Design, develop, and implement solid phase extraction or other analyte purification procedures
  5. Design, develop, and implement LCMSMS detection methods
  6. Practice safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
  7. Maintain equipment in proper working condition by performing and/or completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; analyze and resolve work problems; troubleshoot malfunctions; call for repairs
  8. Keep schedules and repair records in an orderly manner
  9. Document actions by maintaining laboratory records and quality logs
  10. Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task and balance demanding workload
  11. Accomplish organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to customer needs
  12. Inspect completed work for accuracy, conformance and high standards

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITEIS INCLUDE THE PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB. THE JOB DESCRIPTION SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMPLETE LISTING OF ALL MISCELLANEOUS, INCIDENTAL OR OTHER DUTIES, WHICH MAY BE ASSIGNED DURING NORMAL OPERATIONS.

 

WHAT YOU BRING:  

  • Master of Science Degree or higher in Chemistry or equivalent industry experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience using LCMSMS instrumentation strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in bioanalytical sample preparation including SPE strongly preferred
  • 1-2 years’ experience in proteomics or protein purification preferred
  • Experience with automated liquid handlers a plus
  • Knowledge of classical extraction techniques and immunoaffinity techniques a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Must have a positive attitude and be a team player, self-motivated, and energetic
  • Must have the ability to Travel
