And we need you to join our team as our Jr. Manufacturing Engineer     

 

Summary: Performs varied Engineering assignments under general direction and supervision of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager or assigned Lead Engineer.    Will develop drawings, Schematics, programs for Tecan SP products, process equipment, and assist in fixtures design for production and assembly.  The Jr. Manufacturing Engineer will assist in the Preventative Maintenance administration, and will be part of the Kaizen activity as assigned.  The Jr. Manufacturing Engineer will Support Production and Assembly lines through analytical and problem solving skills, effective planning and execution.  Applies industry and Tecan SP, Inc. standards to design tasks.                                

 

Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager

 

What You Do:

 

  1. Responsible for developing drawing and schematics with SolidWorks.   

 

  1. Uses best practices and procedures in troubleshooting the process and equipment.  Works closely with Production, Assembly, and QARA to help support the tasks at hand. 

 

  1. Assists in engineering tests and/or scientific experiments, and prepares the results.

 

  1. Interacts with internal customers and/or suppliers in resolution of specific problems unique to their respective applications.

 

  1. Works closely with all departments of the organization, such as Marketing, Production, Assembly, and Quality to plan and coordinate project activities and communicate status.

 

  1. Assists the lead engineer in process development projects, designing and improving existing fixtures with the guidance of the respective SME.
  2. Engages in the assembly of new product first article to ensure proper execution and documentation.

 

  1. Ensures that product test, design and development work is documented in conformance with the Tecan Quality Management System and; 
  2. support existing automation equipment and validagte new qeuipment through IQ,OQ, and PQ porcess. 

 

  1. Support the Validation of New Product Lines through the PLV process. 

 

  1. Participate in  problem solving teams utilizing lean methodologies.

 

  1. Follow initial production lots through production process, identifying and eliminating potential concerns and problems, answering operator questions, interfacing with Quality with initial lot at Final Inspection to ensure identified procedures are followed and concerns are eliminated prior to full production.

 

  1. Participate in meetings to provide input into Non-Conforming Material disposition and Corrective & Preventative Action Plans.

 

  1. Support the Quality System and Quality Policy by following procedures / work instructions and creating records to meet the requirements of Tecan SP, Inc. Quality System and ISO registration.

WHAT YOU BRING:

 

  • Requires a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering,
  •  Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering at an ABET Accredited School plus 1-2yrs of manufacturing experience or equivalent,
  • 1-2 years of applicable mechanical engineering experience, and proficiency in 3D solid modeling design software (SolidWorks strongly preferred). 
  • Experience in design of sheet metal and precision machined components essential.  Biotechnology Instrumentation or Medical Device design and/or motion control experience a plus.
