And we need you to join our team as our Quality Control Manager at our Baldwin Park, California facility.

 

Summary:  The Quality Control Manager ensures materials and products are inspected, tested and released according to applicable regulations. Ensures scientific and compliance based suitability of analytical methods used for testing materials and products through method transfers and method validations. This position also provides training and education in the area of quality improvement, good laboratory and manufacturing practices (GLP and GMP) and ensures proper compliance with regulatory standards. This position supports the company during inspections, audits, and/or inquiries from regulatory

authorities.

 

Reports To: Director of Quality and Regulatory

 

What You Do:

 

• Develop and maintain Quality Control procedures and instructions in consumables and assembly to ensure on time delivery and quality

• Establish, develop and maintain analytical chemistry and microbiology

• Ensure implementation of materials, capital and manpower activities to attain output goals

• Supervise, train, mentor and evaluate Quality Control personnel.

• Set priorities and review work for daily in-process and final product release

• Perform and approve analytical methods in QC laboratory

• Performs work in accordance with regulatory requirements, policies/procedures and departmental standards in regards to safety, handling/disposal of hazardous materials.

• Maintains equipment calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, service, and repair.

• Coordinate overtime in his/her group with Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs

• Review NCR reports and participate in complaint investigations meetings to identify nonconformities   due to the production process. Help develop corrective actions

• Record, monitor and take necessary actions on KPIs for QC process effectiveness

• Responsible for annual performance evaluations and schedules of assigned staff

• Maintain Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) at all times

• Ensure the quality policy is understood, implemented and maintained

• Maintain quality standards within Tecan SP, Inc. policies

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITEIS INCLUDE THE PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB. THE JOB DESCRIPTION SHALL NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A COMPLETE LISTING OF ALL MISCELLANEOUS, INCIDENTAL OR OTHER DUTIES, WHICH MAY BE ASSIGNED DURING NORMAL OPERATIONS.

 

WHAT YOU BRING:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in life science (Chemistry, Biology, others)

• 3+ years of management or supervisory experience

• Good working knowledge LC, GC, and Spectrophotometer

• Good working knowledge of microbiology which includes identification and quantification

• Familiar with USP, and method validation/verification

• Familiarity with Engineering drawing, GD&T and assembly is a plus

• Must have a positive attitude and be a team player, self-motivated, and energetic

• Must be organized, be able to follow directions, and be open to learn and accept changes in a fast paced environment

• Leadership skills with the ability to direct activities of others both individually and within a project Team setting
