Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager for Precision Machining Services is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, acquiring, and managing new and existing client relationships within the precision machining industry. This role requires a deep understanding of machining processes, materials, and technical specifications, as well as exceptional skills in communication, presentation, negotiation, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a proven track record in business development, sales, and fostering long-term customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation.
- Develop and implement strategic business development and sales plans to achieve or exceed revenue and growth targets.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and quotations tailored to client needs and industry requirements.
- Build, nurture, and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business and high customer satisfaction.
- Understand client requirements and collaborate with internal teams to deliver customized machining solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and ongoing support, ensuring a high level of service.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally to maintain strong client relationships.
- Prepare and submit accurate business development reports, sales forecasts, and pipeline updates to management.
- Negotiate and manage contracts and agreements in alignment with company policies and objectives.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support product development and strategic business planning.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s machining capabilities, services, and industry trends to effectively position offerings in the market.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of successful business development or sales experience in the precision machining or manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed business development and sales targets.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and technical specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Self-driven, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
- This position requires a physical presence in the Morgan Hill area.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Base Salary $125,000 (+uncapped commission)
