IT Cyber Security Engineer SSC – 100% – Barcelona, Spain
Responsibilities
- Support the global IT security environment by providing and maintaining reliable, secure IT systems that enable and support employees in their daily work.
- Define, enhance, and implement IT security standards across the IT infrastructure in alignment with the Head of Information Security.
- Deliver and support cyber security and IT projects, improving functionality, security, and quality of global IT services.
- Act as deputy for global IT security operations (e.g., antivirus platforms, Microsoft Security Suite, and other key security services).
- Design, maintain, and deliver training on business continuity and disaster recovery protocols related to IT security.
- Perform security audits, identify risks, and recommend policies and improvements to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
- Advise and support employees on all IT security-related topics, ensuring awareness and adherence to security best practices.
- Monitor and assess multiple systems, tools, and threat intelligence sources to identify and evaluate potential cyber security risks.
- Plan and execute regular vulnerability scans and network security assessments to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Ensure systems and software are up-to-date by applying the latest security patches and updates.
- Implement security requirements and standards for global IT systems, in alignment with organizational policies and regulatory needs.
- Coordinate and collaborate with external partners and vendors to deliver specialized expertise and solutions.
- Manage and resolve IT service tickets, ensuring effective communication and resolution for end-users.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying gaps, proposing enhancements, and implementing solutions to strengthen IT security and service delivery.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in system and network administration, IT security fundamentals, user support, and security awareness.
- Experience in incident response, documentation, and communication.
- Project leadership and expertise with security tools are an advantage.
- Knowledge of operating systems, networking, security fundamentals, vulnerability management, endpoint and infrastructure security, scripting & automation, cloud security, malware analysis, threat hunting, and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001).
- Additional training in Red Teaming, penetration testing, incident response, threat hunting, malware analysis, secure coding, cloud security, and security awareness is a plus.
- Continuous learning mindset, including participation in CTF competitions, online labs, and security conferences.
- Fluent in English; German or another language is a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel to other sites.
