Field Automation Specialist
Location: The Netherlands
In this highly technical, hands-on field based role you are responsible for service, installation and applications on our liquid handling and detection equipment within the Benelux region. Occasionally it could be required to provide support to other European regions.
With a technical analytical mind set, you perform problem diagnosis & service, preventive maintenance, installations, development and delivery of applications according to customer specifications and train our customers on the use and maintenance of our equipment.

Work independently, but as a real team player, share expertise, knowledge and information obtained from unique problems or specialised trainings with the rest of your team.
Reacting independently and scheduling appointments according to urgency and contractual obligations, keeping the administration and job-related documentation correct, accurate and timely updated, as well as independently managing the own stock of spare parts are part of the range of tasks.
What will you do:
- Perform on-site problem diagnosis & service, preventive maintenance, upgrades and installation of TECAN liquid handling and detection equipment in consideration of economic criteria and contractual obligations.
- Development and delivery of applications according to customer defined expectations and agreed timelines.
- Provide customer guidance & training on operation, maintenance and instrument software.
- Maintains all service related documentation and report hours and spare part consumption, timely via the field service tool.
- Handle correspondence and other administrative tasks in connection to the job.
- Completion of all customer handover documentation including customer sign-off.
- Maintains appropriate spare parts inventory.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending trainings, educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
- Attend internal/external kick-off meetings in order to understand expectations and obligations as per pre-defined acceptance criteria.
- Escalate and resolve issues in connection with customer complaints, exceeding deadlines and other critical occurrences
- Communicate and cooperate with the European Service Management team, the Benelux management team and with other departments/manufacturers/suppliers.
- Participate in meetings, conferences, workshops and trainings.
- Support sales representatives at their sales efforts, product demonstrations and trade shows.
- Support and perform quality assurance related activities.
- Accept and/or initiate supporting tasks in other geographical areas as well as abroad.
- Accept other tasks to support the business.
- Perform the Task & Activities as listed in the job description.
- Maintain and optimise customer satisfaction, service quality, productivity and profitability.
