We are seeking a Field Service Applications Specialist (FSAS) to serve as the post-sale technical expert supporting Liquid Handling automation platforms throughout the Americas.
In this role, you will partner closely with Field Automation Engineers, Application Scientists, Product Management, and customers to deliver application-based automation solutions that integrate software, hardware, and biological workflows. You will provide advanced technical expertise throughout the customer lifecycle, including application development, installation support, troubleshooting, training, and workflow optimization.

How Will You Make an Impact?
- Become a technical expert in Liquid Handling automation, providing advanced application support throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Support both pre-sale and post-sale activities by evaluating customer applications and recommending automation solutions.
- Design, configure, and implement application-based solutions using software, scripting, hardware, and laboratory workflows.
- Collaborate with Field Automation Engineers to shift customer discussions from product features toward application-driven solutions.
- Provide application analysis, workflow configuration, instrument demonstrations, installation support, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Deliver technical training and application support to Field Automation Engineers and members of the service organization.
- Partner with Product Management and Applications teams to communicate customer feedback and field requirements.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for complex application issues involving liquid handling automation platforms.
- Assist customers with programming, workflow optimization, and application-specific problem resolution.
- Maintain awareness of emerging scientific technologies, laboratory workflows, and automation trends.
- Travel extensively throughout the Americas and internationally as needed to support customer installations, training, and service activities.
- Ensure compliance with company quality systems, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete assigned projects while maintaining high standards for documentation, communication, and customer satisfaction.

Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Computer Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of two years of experience with laboratory automation or liquid handling systems in academic or industry environments.
- Experience developing automation applications using native instrument software or programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with automated laboratory instrumentation.
- Knowledge of molecular biology workflows including:
- Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) sample preparation
- PCR and qPCR setup
- Nucleic acid purification
- DNA/RNA quantification and normalization
- Experience supporting customers in technical or scientific environments.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications.
Nice to Have
- Experience with VBScript, VBA, and .NET programming.
- Experience designing and implementing laboratory automation workflows.
- Background supporting Field Service Engineers or Application Scientists.
- Experience delivering customer training and technical presentations.
- Knowledge of liquid handling programming, scripting, and workflow optimization.
- Familiarity with third-party laboratory instruments and reagent integration.
- Experience collaborating with Product Management and cross-functional technical teams.

Salary range: $100K– $125K
