Key Account Manager EMEA 80-100%
What you will do
In this role, you will focus on existing and new strategic accounts and new strategic/big instrument opportunities. You will fill the funnel with high quality high caliber leads and progress these along the sales funnel to sustained success.
Responsibilities will include
- Operate at a strategic level and understand structure, strategy, product gaps and product roadmap of existing- or prospective assigned key accounts
- Discuss customer applications and workflows in order to understand the needs and requirements of the prospective partner
- Closely follow Tecan Sales process including quoting, business canvas process including market, company and NPV analysis
- Take the lead to negotiate and close complex development and supply agreements in close cooperation with legal and other relevant stakeholders
- Regularly report status, forecast (Flash) and provide input for the budget process
- Close coordination of account approach with Partnering Business (PB) Components and the Life Science Business (LSB)
- Work closely together with Customer Product Management to monitor issues (pricing, quality, logistics performance etc.) and assure they are timely addressed by the relevant function
- Cooperation with Customer Solution Development (Concept) team, legal, RnD, finance, service, operations, QARA, whilst progressing prospective opportunities and partnerships
What you bring along
- Laboratory related education a must. Degree in Chemistry, Biology or Science appreciated. Additional Business Management or Sales degrees a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years sales experience in the Diagnostic/Life Science field with existing contacts, ideally with large accounts in an international environment
- Experience with negotiation and bringing complex business to business contracts to signing
- Experience with management of a business unit (ability to talk 1:1on a high, VP-CEO level on technical, application and all kinds of business and operational related issues)
- Good lab working practices, data management and presentation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; any other languages would be a plus
