Commercial Product Manager Consumables (80-100%)

What you will do

The aim of this role is to ensure supply of our consumables to our OEM clients as well as to strengthen the consumables business and product portfolio in our Partnering Business (PB). Due to this, the tight management of the budget, forecasts and supply are key as well as developing and maintaining a strategy to optimize and enrich the portfolio for future products and growth.

Responsibilities will include

  • Manage PB consumables forecasting, budget and demand planning and ensure timely delivery of our consumables to PB customers as per supply agreements.
  • Lead and/or support customer calls on topics of consumables quality, supply, logistics and delivery complaints.
  • Coordinate complaints, returns and customer feedback.
  • Work with legal department for new consumables customer agreements and contracts.
  • Develop and maintain the consumables strategy including the product development roadmap and evaluation of new business opportunities and manage revenue/gross profit together with Customer Product Management, Global Sales and other related functions in Tecan.
  • Work closely with the global consumables team to optimize the product portfolio, share market trends, guide strategic consumables projects and the development of the future product roadmap.
  • Collaborate and provide input and guidance to marcom team regarding successful campaigns, marketing strategies as well as product specific marketing collateral.


What you bring along

  • University Degree (BA or MA) in Chemistry, Biology, Medicine or Engineering
  • At least 5 years of working experience in sales, sales support or marketing with high-volume products or consumables ideally in the life sciences / IVD industry
  • Negotiation and execution of complex contracts, especially development/supply agreements and/or master agreements
  • Expert Excel knowledge as well as strong analytical drive
  • Excellent English skills is a must, German or any other language would be beneficial
  • Strong executor with focus and deliver on committed, sustainable results
  • Globally and multi-culturally experienced with high customer orientation
