Your role:


Lead the design and review of security architecture in the context of desktop applications, IoT and cloud applications, instrument firmware, and associated data. Improve tooling and processes to ensure cybersecurity best practices are effectively integrated into our agile development processes. Focus on the big picture of cloud infrastructure design and services. Serve as the subject matter expert for all cyber defense domains (incl. staying up to date with and integrating relevant standards, regulatory guidelines, frameworks, and best practices as appropriate) in the context of software and digital products created by Tecan. Cooperate with stakeholders both inside and outside the Software Architecture & Standards team. You will also be a member of Tecan’s Software Architecture group which aligns with company-wide architecture and best practices and occasionally also runs workshops and the annual tech conference.


You will:

  • Introduce, maintain and review new and existing security services, technologies and technical solutions to secure our medical devices, cloud services and infrastructure
  • Design state-of-the-art security controls in collaboration with the project teams
  • Create and prototype security concepts and requirements for medical devices and cloud services
  • Based on your assessments, define and maintain a roadmap for cybersecurity and data privacy improvements to meet the requirements of tomorrow
  • Monitor security quality in medical device software and cloud services and carry out vulnerability assessments and gap analyses of our software


Your profile:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field of study, or vocational training as a Fachinformatiker Anwendungsentwicklung (m/f/d) or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with cybersecurity and data privacy
  • Very good knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
  • Experience in the field of software verification, e.g.,  test automation, and in an agile environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of an object-oriented programming language is preferred
