Senior Verification Engineer

What you will do:

Support projects through verification, documentation and customization of new and enhanced products. Define and plan methods for verification tests as part of development projects. Ensure verification execution and documentation in a timely manner. Develop test criteria for components and systems in all phases of a project. Assure failure mode documentation and incorporation into improved test protocols. Apply industry and Tecan Systems standard engineering and design principles to tasks.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate verification activities, needed HW/SW and documents, including detailed setup and execution. Verification activities include life testing and robustness testing, coordination may include technical lead activities of a group of verification engineers
  • Follow generally accepted guidelines and technical approaches
  • Plan and perform component and/or system verification or verification for firmware and software development projects of new and enhanced products as appropriate
  • Propose or design test fixtures. Define planning and execution methods for verification as part of development projects
  • Communicate progress within the project team and to management
  • Assure document assignments, test procedures and results are in conformance with the Tecan Quality Management System
  • Research new test engineering practices, procedures and tools to maintain proficiency and experience with emerging technologies
  • Domestic and International business travel not to exceed 10%


What you bring along:

  • Minimum requirement is BA, with 8+ years of relevant verification experience or MA with 6+ years of relevant verification experience required
  • Test and Test Management experience in regulated industry required
  • Experience in managing small to medium sized test teams and stakeholders
  • A keen eye for technical details and documentation & strong interest in the field of robotics / electronics / mechanics
  • Experience in handling laboratory equipment and in the automation of laboratory processes
  • Experience in the regulated environment is required, ISO 13485 and/or FDA is a plus
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English required
  • ISTQB-Basic Level or more is a plus
  • Statistical analysis is a plus
  • Some coursework in a programming language such as Visual Basic, C or C++ is a plus
  • Knowledge of the laboratory environment is a plus
  • Independent and systematic way of working
  • Very strong and team-oriented basic attitude and good communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills and process thinking
  • Experience with mechanical test equipment such as tensile, torsion, environmental or vibration testing is a plus
