Marketing Manager

What you will do

The Marketing Manager is responsible for executing strategic plans and supporting initiatives to aggressively increase brand presence and penetration in target markets. Your role will be to support marketing activities in the Americas for the entire portfolio of Tecan products, while working closely with the global product team to drive continued business success.


Responsibilities will include

  • Responsible for ideation and implementation of business initiatives to profitably gain share in accounts
  • Define and execute marketing programs for demand creation, including content creation, SEM, PPC, webinars, email, sales promotions, collateral and co-marketing.
  • Develop measurement strategies and KPIs for all marketing programs. Provide ongoing campaign optimization to improve conversion results.
  • Support the in-house and regional sales team with required tools and collateral, which help ensure successful go-to-market activities and drive sales growth.
  • Collaborate with global marketing teams to ensure alignment on global initiatives and identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of product portfolio, market trends and competitors.
  • Provide constant cadence of voice of customer feedback to global product teams to help shape the future development of new products to meet changing market demands. 
  • Monitor and analyze business data to help support strategic decision-making and identifying new growth opportunities. 
  • Develop marketing programs that "pull" Company brand through distribution via Point of Purchase, promotions, and marketing communication vehicles (advertising, newsletters, electronic campaigning). 
  • Act as a go-to point of contact for support related questions covering a wide range of needs, including but not limited to product positioning, sales arguments, marketing tools, and customer segmentation.
  • Ensure the deployment of effective marketing efforts that supports products in various stages of their life cycle, from development to phase-out.
  • Coordinate messaging, logistics, and execution of regional and national tradeshows.
  • Maintains professional communications network with the US Sales force, Global and Local Marketing groups, & Sr. Management.
  • Assists in the development & distribution of various marketing materials, including advertisements, booth graphics, posters, product brochures, application notes, product launch documents, etc.
  • Handles other essential tasks as assigned, and responds to change productively

  • BA/BS degree in marketing/Life Sciences or a related subject
  • 5+ years of experience and demonstrated success in marketing (medical device, biopharmaceutical, or life science market is desired).
  • Previous experience in Genomics, or Cell Bio market is ideal.
  • Direct experience selling or working closely with a sales team..
  • Track record of driving positive outcomes while working on global cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of the challenges and needs faced by scientists in the lab.  
  • Advanced software skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Proven experience with a CRM for tracking sales and marketing effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of and  experience with, marketing automation, content management and CRM tools (Hubspot, Showpad, and SAP preferred).
