Payroll Specialist

Salary Range DOE (60,000 - 72,000)
As part of the payroll team, you will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for employees. This role requires an understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure payroll data integrity, resolve payroll issues, and implement improvements in payroll processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, acute attention to detail, and payroll system processing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Payroll process for employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and company policies.
Compliance: Ensure payroll operations comply with applicable labor laws and tax regulations. Stay current on payroll-related regulations and update procedures accordingly.
System: Work within the payroll system (ADP), ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and recommend process improvements.
Audits & Reporting: Conduct regular payroll audits and provide reports on payroll metrics to finance leadership. Assist in internal and external payroll audits as necessary.
Problem Resolution: Handle payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll issues promptly. Provide courteous service for payroll-related inquiries.
Collaboration: Work closely with HR to maintain accurate employee records, including benefits, deductions, and timekeeping.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience.
Understanding payroll regulations, including tax withholding, garnishments, and other payroll-related laws.
Experience with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, SAP) and strong proficiency in Excel.
A certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
