Job Summary:
The Technical Sales Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new customers and managing existing client relationships within the precision machining industry. This role requires a solid understanding of machining processes, materials, and technical specifications, along with exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a proven track record of exceeding sales targets and fostering long-term customer partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and lead generation.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations, proposals, and quotations tailored to client needs.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Understand client requirements and collaborate with internal teams to provide customized machining solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and ongoing support.
- Resolve customer issues promptly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
- Negotiate and manage sales contracts and agreements in alignment with company policies.
- Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to inform product development and strategic planning.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s machining capabilities, services, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience in the precision machining or manufacturing industry.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and technical specifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Self-driven, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
- This position requires a physical presence in the Morgan Hill area.
