Production Control Planner

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in production planning within a manufacturing environment? Join our team as a Production Control Planner, where you will play a critical role in coordinating production activities and ensuring on-time delivery (OTD) for our customers.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Shipping, and Program Management to maintain accurate schedules, resolve material constraints, and support efficient manufacturing operations. You will be a key contributor to executing the Shop Floor Schedule (SFS) and ensuring alignment between demand, materials, and production flow.

How Will You Make an Impact?

• Coordinate daily activities across Production, Quality, and Shipping to support on-time delivery (OTD) aligned with the Shop Floor Schedule (SFS)
• Review production and New Product Introduction (NPI) orders to determine product requirements, including quantities, specifications, and delivery timelines
• Establish and maintain production priorities and sequences to support efficient workflow and meet Work Order Aging goals
• Develop, maintain, and adjust operational schedules based on customer demand and production capacity
• Prepare and present reports for daily production meetings, including Work in Progress (WIP), Finished Goods Inventory (FGI), backlog, and shipment status
• Participate in daily production and cross-functional meetings; communicate schedule updates, risks, and recovery plans
• Support execution of production meetings, including review of Turnkey Shortages and Kit Plan/Drop schedules
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Intuitive/Manex) to release, track, and maintain work orders and planning data
• Monitor material availability, review pull kits, and follow up on shortages to minimize production delays
• Coordinate Outside Processing (OSP) activities with external vendors to ensure timely delivery of components
• Review SMT schedules and support prioritization based on production needs
• Prepare daily shipment reports and coordinate with Shipping to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Communicate schedule commitments and updates to Program Managers (PMs) and internal stakeholders
• Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate production, material, or scheduling issues as needed

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

 

Your Background

• Associate degree or technical certification in a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to production planning or scheduling
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Manex or similar preferred)
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Outlook
• Exposure to PCB/PCBA/SMT manufacturing environments is a plus

 

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) builds
• Familiarity with Shop Floor Scheduling (SFS) systems
• Understanding of supply chain processes, including material planning and outside processing (OSP)
• Experience working in high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments

 

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
• Ability to occasionally walk the production floor and interact with manufacturing teams
• Ability to perform tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Salary range: $75K-90K
(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with industry data.)
