Job title: HR Generalist/HRBP

 

What you will do

Provides HR support to Tecan Genomics.  Responsible for the administration and management of all HR programs, systems and polices. Supports leaders in driving people and capability objectives. Assists HR Director by working closely with business leaders, global HR and US HR team members to design, develop and implement human resources and leadership programs, processes and practices that drive and support organizational effectiveness and employee development. 

 

Responsibilities will include

  • Provides HR business partner support to the Tecan Genomics leaders to identify and resolve the corresponding business needs, develop and implement appropriate organizational plans, and build key capabilities required to achieve business objectives. 
  • Responsible for the assistance of implementation and management of HR technology, payroll systems and related polices, health and welfare benefits, retirement programs and other related policies/programs. 
  • Develops and conducts team development building strategies both proactively and when necessary to improve team performance. Presents options to managers on organizational structure, roles & responsibilities, staffing levels, matrix management, etc.
  • Serves as talent advisor, facilitator and champion to build and maintain strong succession pipelines for critical roles.  Facilitates annual performance management and talent identification calibration process (i.e., 9 blocker).
  • Assist HR Director in advising and counseling managers in resolving complaints, personnel problems, immigration concerns, policy questions, EEO, OSHA, wage, and other HR issues.
  • Consults with business leaders to understand training and development needs across the organization. 
  • Works with leadership team members during annual compensation planning to ensure alignment of rewards to performance and that rewards are used as organizational levers.
  • Provides consultation and benchmarking insights for job offers based on strategic need.  Incorporates into the annual budget process, as appropriate.
  • Maintains human resources practices by developing and recommending policies and procedures to meet government requirements. Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by completing annual reporting and following policies and procedures (including: HCE testing, filing of IRS 5500 forms and census filing for EEOC compliance, COBRA, AA, ACA).  
  • Manages semi-monthly payroll activities. 
  • Reviews, revises, creates and regularly updates HR policies and programs.  Responsible for maintain the Employee Handbook and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. 
  • Oversees and manages paid time off programs, including leave management, FMLA and disability programs.       
  • Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters.
  • Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures.
  • Recommend strategies to motivate employees.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, conducting reference checks and issuing employment contracts.
  • Investigate complaints brought forward by employees.
  • Coordinate employee development plans and performance management.
  • Perform orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Manage the organization’s employee database and prepare reports.
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activity.
  • Assist with budget monitoring and payroll.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.

Experience

  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR or  SPHR certification a plus. Minimum 3-5 years as an HR Business Partner/Generalist. 
  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft office Suite
  • Strong finance background desired.
  • Experience in payroll administration. ADP preferred
  • Working knowledge SAP and Success Factors experience desired.
