Digital Sales & Applications Specialist
Remote - East Coast



Your contribution


This position is responsible for selling Tecan’s new SaaS Digital products and supporting implementation of SaaS solutions and ensure customer success (including nurturing, customizations and first-level support). This position will also establish relationships of trust with customers and enable sustainable SaaS sales cycles, while collaborating closely with sales, application and product management teams, as well as with Digital partners. This will also include supporting implementation of programs aimed to optimize commercial uptake of all of Tecan’s Digital products.


  • Achieve or exceed sales targets for Tecan’s SaaS product line.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the local sale including but not limited to; prospecting, lead generation and follow-up, quotations, demonstrations, negotiations, contracts, terms and conditions, closing, and through the installation and post-sale support process.
  • Work directly with new and existing customer to identify needs, qualify proper solutions, demo solutions as necessary, issue quotations, handle objections, negotiate as necessary, successfully close the sale and provide the necessary post sales support.
  • Plan and execute strategies for territory success, including prospecting initiatives, local shows/networking opportunities, key account mapping, sales call strategic planning and use of efficient time/travel management.
  • Serve as a responsible representative of Tecan US, Inc. and operates with integrity and honesty in all business contacts.
  • Ensure customer success as key enabler for subscription renewals
  • Support implementation and customization of SaaS products at customer site through setup of workflows using Python.
  • Train, support and nurture customers to maximize value of SaaS products
  • Ensure effective operation of SaaS solutions including setup, validation, troubleshooting, and customer training; provide first-level support
  • Implement best practices in SaaS sales
  • Collaborate closely with Tecan US Sales teams in business development, conducting demos, and finding and accelerating new accounts; provide applications support and training as needed
  • Support the identification of market and customer needs to guide new development of Digital products
  • Support implementation of programs aimed to optimize commercial uptake of Digital products
  • Track and own KPIs related to Digital SaaS sales
  • Create value for Tecan’s customers and shareholders by delivering to the highest standards and being closest to the needs of the customer
  • Ensure Digital products are delivered to customers in a quality that meets customer expectations
  • Support Digital Collaborations/ Partnerships
  • Attend key conferences and be always up-to-date with latest market trends   


Your background

  • BS degree in Life Sciences or equivalent is desired; Master of Business Administration is preferred
  • 3 years +/- as application specialist in the liquid handling and automation experience gained within an academic or industry setting
  • Python programming skills preferred
  • Ability to navigate and understand laboratory environments, with emphasis on scientific protocol comprehension and scientific vocabulary; hands-on lab experience preferred.
  • Sales experience in life science sales, preferably with recognized performance for growth and exemplary sales achievement in a multi-state or national territory.
  • Proven track record in ensuring customer success in Life Sciences
  • Proven track record in SaaS sales
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with capability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to recognize and manage potential problem areas and resolve them with integrity
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing both technical and non-technical topics
  • Ability to understand the needs of internal and external clients
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities
