Key Account Manager, Partnering Systems

What you will do

In this challenging and important role, you are responsible for managing OEM key accounts and contract negotiation. This position will generate new leads for the Partnering Business and focus on building and maintaining relationships with those established customers.

 

Responsibilities will include

  • Manage the allocated existing PB accounts. This entails Sales and GP responsibility.
  • Reach targets for the allocated PB accounts.
  • Build business cases for new prospects and clients for potential deals through an established internal gate review process.
  • Develop the PB business for the current and potential new future products of the Tecan group with exception of components.
  • Help formulate quotes, statements of work, development, as well as supply agreements working with Legal and Executive leadership teams.
  • Develop a shared account approach with colleagues of the PB Components group.
  • Develop sales funnel with new leads and opportunities primarily targeting MDx OEM development opportunities.
  • Assure long term, partnership type relations with the PB customers and ability to navigate the different executive level contacts at a prospect account.
  • Close new projects with R&D funding through engineering income, feasibility units, and various support packages.
  • Grow the strategically important PB business for level platform and customized development types of projects, profitably.
  • Responsible for annual order intake / sales and pricing / gross profit margins.
  • Ensure customer retention and widen customer base.
  • Work and collaborate with LSB sales colleagues.

 

What you bring along

For this position we are seeking a candidate with an advanced degree in Chemistry or Biology.

Must have:

  • Business Development Experience
  • Strategic selling
  • Experience with negotiation and bringing complex business to business contracts to signing
  • Experience with management of a business unit (ability to talk 1:1 to VAR accounts on high, VP-CEO level on technical, application related and all kinds of operational issues)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in managing large accounts in an international environment
  • Degree in Life Science or Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years sales experience in the IVD or Life Science field with existing contacts
  • Technical background in the Medical, IVD or Life Science industry.
