Manufacturing Lead, Core

What you will do

Acts as primary liaison between Managers/Supervisors, Manufacturing Engineers and the Operators.  Responsible for ensuring operators in the cell are following good manufacturing practices, are producing quality product and are meeting or exceeding daily production goals.  Leads the team to meet continuous improvement goals in quality, cycle time, and new product introduction.

Responsibilities will include

1. Coordinate and monitor the activities of team members to meet daily goals.
2. Review work for quality.
3. Working from drawings, work instructions, diagrams, parts lists, procedures and other documentation, perform a wide variety of electromechanical assembly operations.
4. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team.
5. Lead change in a positive and inspiring fashion.
6. Document problems and solutions related to assembly.  Ensure problems and solutions are documented  in the DHR.
7. Investigate, diagnose and provide solutions for problems that interfere with the efficiency of the production line.  Escalate to Manufacturing Engineers and or the Production Supervisor if necessary.
8. Sustain Lean Enterprise techniques (i.e. 5s, continuous improvement).
9. Train, instruct, orient, and monitor employees in proper practices, procedures and operations.
10. Ensure compliance with safety rules and  precautions, and identify work hazards.
11. Coordinate overtime in his/her group with the Production Supervisor or Director of Operations.
12. Perform documented tests and calibrations.
13. Make visual inspections and follow checklists.

14. Provide support with developing work instructions for assembly and final test for prototype builds.
15. Assist supervisor in reviewing employee performance and recommending minor personnel actions.
16. Assist in maintaining KPI reports that monitor various areas of operations

What you bring along

• Two+ years of related assembly or manufacturing environment experience preferred.
• Qualified under the Lead Certification Program. 
• Detail oriented.
• Demonstrated proficiency in English - reading, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Able to perform shop arithmetic and measurements.
• Proficient in the use of small manual and power tools.
• Must possess basic computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
