Join Tecan as a Senior Planner/Buyer, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the timely availability of materials, services, and equipment while optimizing cost, quality, inventory, and supplier performance.
In this role, you'll serve as a key procurement partner across Customer Service, Warehouse, Quality, Engineering, Product Management, Accounting, project management, and external suppliers. You'll manage purchasing activities, analyze customer demand, develop stocking and sourcing strategies, and drive improvements throughout the supply chain.

How Will You Make an Impact?
- Procure materials, services, and capital equipment for Tecan U.S.
- Evaluate purchase requisitions to optimize quality, delivery, cost, and availability.
- Serve as the primary Tecan contact for vendors regarding pricing, delivery, performance, and escalations.
- Expedite critical orders and provide status updates to project managers and key stakeholders.
- Initiate and manage supplier and departmental corrective actions as required.
- Lead supplier audits to ensure vendor performance, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Analyze customer demand and trends to develop accurate forecasts and establish appropriate stocking levels and reorder points.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies and annual sourcing plans to control purchased-material costs and ensure reliable sources of supply.
- Support sourcing strategies aligned with corporate and divisional goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with the broader Tecan organization to evaluate vendor capabilities, terms and conditions, and supplier stability.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure open communication and efficient working partnerships.
- Build vendor capability awareness across departments to support effective supplier selection.
- Partner with Finance and Accounts Payable to resolve procurement-related invoice discrepancies.
- Maintain procurement procedures, schedules, reports, and KPIs.
- Establish, monitor, and manage vendor KPIs to meet internal performance targets.
- Serve as the SAP Procurement Power User, maintaining data and process integrity.
- Follow all applicable safety procedures and OSHA requirements and report safety concerns.
- Participate in local and global projects as required.
- Support additional business needs and respond positively to changing priorities.

Your Background
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of progressive procurement experience.
- ERP experience required; SAP preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience working with accounting systems.
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, supplier management, sourcing, and purchasing.
- Experience analyzing customer demand, lead times, supplier capacity, and inventory requirements.
- Experience managing supplier performance and procurement KPIs.
- Experience negotiating pricing, delivery, and supplier terms.
- Experience supporting cross-functional supply-chain initiatives.

Salary Range: 80K-110K
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and applicable market data.
